Blue Sapphire and Garnets

Blue Sapphire and Garnets. This necklace comprises fine silver with dark rhodium and 22k-rose gold patinas.

The centrepiece is a large cabochon-cut blue sapphire flanked by two flashing amethysts. The two fronds are graced by four faceted red garnets and four faceted blue sapphires. The four garnets  have outstanding sparkle and flash and the faceted blue sapphires have a rich, deep midnight hue.

The necklace is 17 inches long. The blue sapphire has a beautiful blue hue and good clarity with some inclusions. The amethysts next to it show lovely mauve tones and great sparkle.
