Ametrine Undersea Garden
Ametrine Undersea Garden
This is a stunning pendant from our Rulebreaker collection. It is a carved gemstone of ametrine depicting seagrass slowly waving in underwater currents. The citrine in the lower half of the piece gradually gives way to amethyst in the upper half. At the top are eight sparkling faceted amethysts that serve as a reminder of the sunlight sparkling off the waters.
The setting is sterling silver with a 22-karat yellow gold patina. Six prongs grasp the ametrine very securely. The bail forms a stylized heart with a small amethyst in the centre.
Ametrine is a rare combination of amethyst and citrine in the same stone. These two gemstones are both in the quartz family and derive their colour from the presence of certain minerals during formation and levels of heat. As you turn this unusual gemstone (or move with it on you), it flashes violet and golden tones, making for a beautiful display.
Citrine is one of the birthstones for November, and amethyst is the birthstone for February.
