Delicate Bloom
Delicate Bloom
This rulebreaker ring is part of the Garden Series. The barklike texture of the cross-pieces evokes bushes and the three gemstones are lovely flowers. The band itself is fine silver with a dark rhodium patina. The band tapers to the bottom to make a comfortable fit on the finger.
The main gemstone is a cabochon-cut morganite, which is a beryl (a sister stone to emerald and aquamarine). This is quite a nice piece, with good colour and a nice glow in the light. Morganite is quite rare and it is hard to find good-quality stones. Like all the beryls, it has clear cleavages, evident in this stone as two lines running across within the morganite. They are not cracks as they cannot be felt on the surface. Morganite has a hardness of 7.5-8, giving it great durability as a ring stone.
The two emerald-cut gemstones flanking the morganite are gorgeous rhodolite garnets, with the lovely pinkish-purple tones typical of good-quality rhodolites. They have a fantastic glow.
