Amethyst Lilypad

This lovely pair of earrings display a gorgeous 'bouquet' of purple and red flowers from the Garden Series. The oval gemstones are intensely purple amethysts (February's birthstone) from Uruguay. This coveted deep colour also shows occasional flashes of red and blue under the loupe, as is characteristic of amethyst. Even in a dimmer light, these amethysts have a wonderful, intense glow. The round gemstones are sparkling red garnets (January's birthstone). Amethyst has, by long tradition, been thought to be a stone of spiritual protection and purification.

The gemstones are set in fine silver with 22-karat gold highlights. The clasps are horseshoe type, which are fantastic for securing earrings against accidental loss.
