Vines of Plenty

These lovely Rulebreaker earrings are part of the Garden Series. The 'vines' twist downward and are highlighted by gemstones dotting their lengths. From the top down are four peridots, then four amethysts and a large red garnet (7 x 5 mm). The smaller gemstones are like droplets of crystalline water reflecting leaves and the reddish purple of the garnet 'fruit'.

This pair of earrings is a set, of course, but one of the whimsical details is that the first amethyst in one earring points down whereas, in the other earring, that first amethyst points up. It's a sweet, amusing difference.

 The body of the earrings is fine silver with a patina of white rhodium to help prevent tarnishing. The silver has a lovely texture to evoke a garden vine. A 22-karat rose-gold patina covers the bezel or prongs of each gemstone. The clasp is a very secure horseshoe-style catch to keep your earrings safely on your ear.

Garnets are the birthstone for January, amethysts are the birthstone for February, and peridots are the birthstone for August.
