This pendant depicts a spray of black coral with treasures caught in its branches. The lacy network of coral radiates out from a tanzanite cabochon at the centre to emeralds at the tips of the sprays. The coral setting is delicate fine silver with a patina of black rhodium and a patina of 22-karat rose gold for the veins and bezels.
This tanzanite cabochon is 4.78 carats and measures 20 x 10 mm. It has a lovely crackle effect and a soft lilac-bluish tint typical of tanzanites. The setting is open at the back so the tanzanite rests on bare skin. Tanzanite is one of the birthstones for December.
The four emerald gemstones (3 mm) at the tips of the coral are faceted. They have an aqueous glow that softly gleams. Emerald is the birthstone for May.
The chain is included with this pendant. It is fine silver coated with a patina of black rhodium to match the pendant. It is 18" long.
