Opal and Topaz

This lovely ring features a faceted opal with abundant flashes of orange and green. Although faceting is not common with opals, it can increase some of the play of colour by providing more faces for the light to hit. At 9 x 7 mm, this opal is a great size for a ring, making a good display but not overwhelming the hand.

The central gemstone is surrounded by six white topazes (three on each side) to add some extra sparkle to the ring. These smaller gemstones are around 3 mm in diameter.

The band is sterling silver with a patina of black rhodium and highlights of 22-karat yellow gold patina on the prongs. The inside of the band is flattened for greater comfort.

Size 9. This ring cannot be resized.

Opal is the birthstone for October and topaz is a birthstone for November.
