Handful of Treasure

This gorgeous, dainty ring comprises a star pink sapphire flanked by four freshwater pearls. The star pink sapphire cabochon has a bright glow with diffuse rays that travels over the surface of the gemstone as it moves. The warm pink tones of the sapphire are reflected in the peach overtones of the four freshwater pearls to the sides. The pearls have a very nice nacre and a great, warm glow. The asymmetry of their placement prevents the setting from looking static and leans into the notion of these being a handful of gems scooped up from the ocean.

The band is sterling silver with a patina of black rhodium, which provides a wonderfully dark backdrop to make the gemstones really pop. The inside of the band is flattened for greater comfort.

Sapphire: Star pink cabochon, 6 x 4 mm. Diffuse but intense glow from the star effect. Sapphire is a birthstone for September.

Pearls: Freshwater. Great warmth with peach overtones. Very good body colour. Size ranges from 3.5 to 4 mm.
